I'll admit it. I didn't want to go fishing this morning. I felt like I had just finished my night shift. Not only that, it was cold. It was windy. It had snowed. But I had the day off and Brad called to say he was on his way; so I got up.
After a short drive and a hot coffee we arrived at our spot on the Lower Bow. The wind picked up, and then some more as we hiked in to our hole. If the ducks and geese we jumped off the river were having trouble in the wind, casting may be a problem, but we were here now. After making a few changes in technique, we were forced to do kind of a modified roll-cast, but it seemed to work and soon we were fishing......and catching!
We battled the elements and stuck it out and ended up having an amazing day on the water. Several fish over 20 inches to the net and many more smaller ones made this one of the best days on the water so far in 2010. I told Brad we should go this morning!
